MISSION

"TO MOTIVATE YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE BETTER CITIZENS"

 

PURPOSE

The purpose of Junior ROTC is to instill in students in the United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.

JROTC Battalion Colors

Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. The flag is silver gray fringed in scarlet. In the center is the JROTC device consisting of two arched olive branches with stems conjoined in base, forming a wreath, surmounted by a sheathed saber and rifle in saltire. Overall in the vertical center is the ROTC torch enflamed, all in yellow. Around the center device is a white band edged in scarlet and inscribed with the name of the school in scarlet letters. The device with designation scroll is 16 inches in diameter. In the upper hoist is the monogram “ARMY ROTC” in scarlet on a white disc edged in scarlet, 6 1/2 inches in diameter

Description/Blazon
 
On a white horizontal rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, a horizontal blue wavy bar bearing a silver gray dolphin garnished white on its ventral side, endowed. Attached above a silver gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed "PACIFIC" in blue letters and attached below a silver gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed "HIGH SCHOOL" in blue letters.

Symbolism
Blue, white and gray are the school colors. The dolphin is the school mascot. The wavy bar alludes to the Pacific Ocean, and reflects the school's namesake.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 13 May 1998.

A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width consisting of an heraldic fountain below a blue scroll inscribed "DOLPHINS" in silver letters; surmounted overall at dexter a silver dolphin garnished white on its ventral side hauriant, and one of the like uriant at dexter.

Symbolism
The fountain, a heraldic symbol for water, alludes to the Pacific Ocean, the school's namesake. The dolphin is the school mascot.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 13 May 1998.
